What is Reflexology?
Reflexology Foot Chart

Human Body

Reflexology is the science based on the principles that each part of the feet, hands and ears are related to every organ, gland and body part. As the feet, hands and/or ears are worked on with finger pressure and thumb walking, the energy pathways in the body unblock allowing the body to heal itself. Very simple- very profound!

What Does it Feel Like?

Ear DiagramFeels great. People fall asleep regularly. Sometimes there may be a sensitivity in an area of the foot that relates to a problem going on in the body. If there is a sensitivity, there will be relaxation immediately following to keep the client relaxed. Results of the session may be felt immediately or 24 to 48 hours later. It is suggested to start once a week for 4-6 weeks (unless we are dealing with a more serious condition and then it would be more often). Some people stay with reflexology as a tune up every couple weeks or so while others will use reflexology as way to have their body working at optimum level and schedule on a weekly basis.

Sessions run from $30 to $100 a depending on time allotment and location.

What Is a Session Like?

Feet and the WorldFor an hour session we start with the hands allowing the patient/client to begin to relax. We work the hands about 10-15 minutes. Then we work the feet using thumb walking, different pressures, relaxations, looking for the sensitivities in the feet to work out. This done within the patient/client's sensitivity to touch. Some people like it strong while others like less direct and more gentle pressure. The feet are finished with an essential oil picked for that person and some deep relaxing breathes. The last 10 minutes are spent on the ears where patient/clients describe the relaxation as deep, reaching the pit of their stomach. It is truly a wonderful relaxing, healing experience for most.

In Conclusion

The wonderful thing about reflexology is it can only help....it can't hurt!!
